Privacy.
What happens to your information when you visit or write to us.
The Suitcase Sommelier is an independently run wine-travel project. This notice describes the services used by this website. Updated 11 October 2026.
Writing to us.
Our contact form asks for your email address and message, with a name if you choose to give one. We use those details to respond and to investigate questions or corrections. We do not add you to a mailing list. Please leave out payment details, booking references and sensitive personal information.
Netlify handles form submissions for this website. Messages are stored in Netlify and forwarded to our private Gmail inbox, provided by Google. These providers may process information outside your country. Their own privacy notices explain how they handle information: Netlify privacy notice and Google privacy policy.
Hosting.
Netlify hosts this website and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and operate the service. Fonts, destination images and the Miles video are served with this site. The video starts only when you choose to play it; no TikTok embed is loaded.
Saved guides.
When you save a guide, this site stores its region identifier in your browser’s local storage. No account is created and no saved list is sent to us. Clear saved guides individually, or clear this site’s browser data to remove the list. Browser privacy settings or storage limits may prevent saving.
Trip checklist.
Checklist choices and an optional travel date are also stored only in this browser, separately for each region. They are planning notes; they do not reserve visits. Clear this site’s browser data to remove them.
Maps and outside links.
Venue, travel and Viator links take you to external websites with their own privacy and booking terms. Viator affiliate links include a partner identifier so Viator can attribute bookings. We do not send your saved guides, checklist or contact message through those links. Read more about our commercial links and Viator’s privacy policy.
OpenStreetMap receives a request only when you choose to load a street map or open an external OpenStreetMap link. Its privacy information is available from the OpenStreetMap Foundation. The numbered orientation maps are served with this site.
Analytics and accounts.
We have not added website analytics, advertising pixels, a newsletter or visitor accounts. If we change the services we use, we will update this notice.
Questions about your information.
Use our contact form to ask a privacy question or request access, correction or deletion of correspondence you have sent us. Include enough context for us to find the message, without sending sensitive documents.
